Valencia CF now has one of the lowest salary expenditures in all of La Liga. Before the winter transfer market in which the club offloaded 6 players VCF had the 8th highest salary expenditures in the league, but after the winter transfer window the expenditure is much lower and now the club is 10th in overall salary expenditures.
The highest paid player still is Goncalo Guedes with around 6 million euros salary per year, Carlos Soler following him with around 5 million euros per year, similar to Gabriel Paulista and Jasper Cillessen.
Then a bit further down is Jose Luis Gaya who earns about 3.5 million euros per year, followed by Maxi Gomez and Helder Costa. Of course Helder Costa is only here on loan, and he carries a hefty price tag so its safe to say that Valencia CF won't be signing the player.
Surprisingly Thierry Rendall Correia is one of the lowest payed players in the squad even though he has been one of the best performing players last season, though he did come as an unknown talent, so I'm sure his salary will grow once the negotiations for his contract extension start.
For comparison just two years ago Valencia CF was the 6th highest paying team in Spain with around 55 million annual salary expenditure and now that expenditure is around 40 million euros a significant drop in just two years.
The team is also planning on selling Goncalo Guedes in the summer and that would be a significant reduction in the salary expenditure, 6 million euros with just one player, but Valencia CF would also lose a lot of quality up front. Goncalo Guedes performed great last season and this season has been the same, generally he's had very good performances, one of the best performer in our squad.
