Official: Vinicius Araujo loaned to Standard Liege

Vinicius Araujo announced through social media his one year loan to Standard Liege in Belgium. Valencia CF also made an official statement on their website confirming the deal until June 30, 2015. The 20 year old striker is seen as a bet for the future and thus there doesn't seem to be a purchase option. This will be a good move for Araujo as he can adapt to European football in a club where he can be a starter. In the end, he couldn't find attractive offers in Spain since clubs were reluctant to take on a non-EU player. Some reports said that he is looking into his ancestry to see if he has any EU relatives, which helps him to apply for a EU passport in the future.

In other news, Jonathan Viera could also be headed for the same destination. Standard Liege is reportedly interested in the playmaker but nothing concrete yet. There is less than a week left in the transfer market and Valencia CF still has to sign a striker and a midfielder as well as find a destination for Viera, Postiga and Guardado.

Guardado is in the Netherlands currently negotiating the loan deal to PSV. Expect the deal to materialize soon.

Good luck to him and hope he comes back to impress!

Any thoughts?
