Official: Diego Alves transfers to Valencia CF

Diego Alves was officially announced as a Valencia CF player today and he is going to stay with Valencia until 2015. Diego Alves completed his transfer from UD Almeria to Valencia CF for 3 million euros. He played for UD Almeria since the year 2007.

This is basically old news and it was a done deal, in fact I've reported previously that the deal is signed and done months ago, we just expected for the official announcement to be made and basically with the departure of Cezar it was a good time to announce the arrival of Alves.

Diego Alves said this at the press conference:"I fulfill a dream to sign for a big European club in the Champions League, its been my goal to come to Valencia since I learned of your interest in me."
"it's a big responsibility to play for a club with the tradition of Valencia, where great goalkeepers played and where I will have high quality colleagues. I come here with many desires, ambition and humility and happy to work again with Unai Emery."
"I want to tell everyone that I'm looking forward to arriving in Valencia and getting to work, I'll earn the confidence of the club, and I'll give everything for the team and the fans."

Its a good signing, in fact Diego Alves was the best goalkeeper 4 seasons ago, but is he worth 4 million, especially when Valencia has Vicente Guaita, not to mention Moya and Renan are still with the club and haven't been sold.
