KAA Gent vs Valencia CF Match Preveiw

KAA Gent vs Valencia CF Match Preview
Stadium: Ghelamco Arena
Date: 04.11.2015 20:45 CET
4th fixture, Champions League group stage
Coaches: Hein Vanhaezebrouck and Nuno Santo

Valencia CF had a good week, they managed to beat Levante 3-0 and climb on the table in La Liga. This was the only the third time this season the team had scored 3 goals and only second time in La Liga, so the coach and players will be satisfied with the win.

Now Valencia CF is shifting the focus to the Champions league where they'll be facing KAA Gent, the opponent from the last fixture in which Valencia CF won 2-1 and they will be looking for a repeat of that outcome. KAA Gent turned out to be a way stronger opponent than anticipated and it took a lot of effort to beat them at the Mestalla, playing at their home turf is probably going to be even harder, but this is a must win for Valencia CF as it is possible to guarantee qualification for the next round if results go in Valencia's way.

KAA Gent right now has only 1 point from 3 matches, same with Lyon and a loss today would definitely put them out of contention for the next round, the same would happen with Lyon if they lose as well, so Valencia CF doing all they can and winning the match is key in order to possibly qualify for the next round with two matches to spare and then the team can focus more on the Spanish league and play some of the more fringe players in the squad in the next CL matches.

Valencia CF coach has finally recalled Alvaro Negredo and Rodrigo De Paul to the squad, after a longer absence due to "technical" reasons, but with Rodrigo Moreno injured he has no option but to return Negredo to the squad. It will be interesting who starts, if Nuno decides to rest Paco and give Negredo the starting nod or if he'll continue using Paco as he still has a rocky relationship with Negredo and doesn't want him to play just yet.

Another interesting decision is whether he plays Daniel Parejo or not, he's benched Parejo for the last match and has been taking him off in the previous two games as well, as he is not fully pleased with Parejo's performances, so it will be interesting who starts, especially now that Enzo Perez is back from injury and we have 4 central midfield players that are going to compete, with Danilo more of a back-up when someone gets injured.

Valencia CF Squad:
Goalkeepers: Doménech, Yoel
Defenders: Cancelo, Barragan, Mustafi, Santos, Vezo, Gaya, Orban
Midfielders: Javi Fuego, Danilo, Enzo Perez, Parejo, Andre Gomes, Feghouli, Piatti, De Paul
Forwards: Negredo, Paco Alcácer, Santi Mina

Technical Details Valencia CF (probable setups):
Formation: 4-3-3
Line-up: Jaume; Barragan, Mustafi, Santos, Gaya; Fuego, Parejo, Gomes; Feghouli, Paco, Piatti.
Tactics: Medium defensive line, own half pressure, mixed passing, counter attacks, frequent through balls
