4th matchday, Copa del Rey
Coaches: Paco Jemez and Nuno Santso
Valencia CF will be facing off against Rayo Vallecano in their first Copa del Rey match. Valencia CF is coming off of a demoralizing last second loss against FC Barcelona and will be looking to respond in the proper fashion after a series of not so great results.
Surprisingly Nicolas Otamendi is on the list of players for this match, even though he has an injury, but I guess it was less severe than initially thought. Rodrigo Moreno, Feghouli, Barragan and Parejo are being given a rest and we are likely to see Zuculini or Felipe start this match. Apart from that it will be interesting if he will give Yoel the starting spot to try and see how he does again or if Nuno will play it safe and have Diego on goal.
Knowing Nuno I'm inclined we are going to see Diego Alves on goal, but we'll see, its going to be interesting to see how he approaches the early match of the Copa del Rey cup.
Apart from that we can expect pretty much the same 4-3-3 formation and same tactics he has been using against most teams, with the obvious fast counter attacks and long balls into the penalty area.
Valencia CF Squad:
Goalkeepers: Alves, Yoel
Defenders: Cancelo, Vezo, Mustafi, Otamendi, Gaya, Orban
Midfielders: Fuego, Gomes, Zuculini, Felipe, Gil, Robert, Piatti, De Paul
Forwards: Negredo, Paco
Technical Details Valencia CF (probable setups):
Line-up: Diego; Cancelo, Mustafi, Vezo, Orban; Fuego, Gomes, Felipe, De Paul, Paco, Robert.
Tactics: Low defensive line, own half pressure, long passing, deep laying defensive midfielder, counter attacks.
Rayo Vallecano 0-2 Valencia CF
I expect a comfortable victory by Valencia CF. I also expect to see a more attacking play that has good amount of possession.
