Enzo Perez's name has been sounding for Valencia CF since the beginning of the transfer window. A deal was agreed upon from earlier in the year and all that was left was for Lim to be confirmed owner for the deal to go through. Benfica, however, have changed the conditions of the deal with Lim, something he absolutely hates when dealing with others, and demand 30 million euros instead of the original 25 million euros. The move comes as Benfica have lost a lot more star players than they intended with Valencia CF taking three of them. This has led to the frustration of fans. To respond to that, their President has reportedly promised fans that he won't back down from the release clause.
There was supposed to be a meeting scheduled today to try and push for a solution. However, it appears that even that was cancelled as negotiations have broken down. Valencia CF already have 4-5 alternatives according to reports. One newspaper mentioned two of them.
The first name was Asier Illaremendi of Real Madrid. He barely gets playing time for Madrid and is still young and would like an opportunity to earn playing time. However, it doesn't look like Madrid is willing to sell and the player himself appears to want to fight for his place.
The second name was one that was mentioned frequently. Filipe Augusto from Rio Ave FC whom Nuno worked for before coming to Valencia CF is the other name. Nuno seems to trust this player a lot and has great confidence in his abilities to succeed. The one EU spot we have remaining would need to be used if this transfer were to go through.
The names that people here in this blog suggested were Veloso and Obiang. There hasn't been anything on Veloso. There was one report on Pedro Obiang a week back, but I don't know if he is still being pursued.
