Official: Pabon sold back to Monterrey

We all knew Pabon would be one of the first to leave this summer and here it is. Quite surprisingly, the club that sold him to Valencia CF in the first place is the one that bought him back, for a cheaper price I might add. This purchase was a joke from the beginning. Pabon arrived last year to compensate for the departure of Soldado. He came from Mexican club Monterrey for about 7.5 million euros, quite expensive given that Valencia CF barely had money to spend and had to pay this amount from the wages they saved from players that were sold. The only thing to go by in terms of his performances was his decent time at Real Betis, but he couldn't even manage that. About half way through the season, he gets loaned to Sao Paulo after hearing of the arrival of Vargas. Now, Monterrey bought him back for 5.1 million euros, 3.75 million euros of this amount goes to some company that owns half his rights. That leaves us with 1.35 million euros, a long way off the 7.5 million originally spent. A terrible investment. Good luck to Pabon!
